Dr. Mike Sheffield
Dr. Sheffield received his DVM degree from Texas A&M University in 1985. He did his undergraduate work at Texas A&I (now Texas A&M, Kingsville). He began his professional career in the Rio Grande Valley. He then moved to the Dallas area and spent two years there in a mixed animal practice. In 1990, Dr. Sheffield moved to Wimberley and started Wimberley Veterinary Clinic. He is married and has a son. He also has three horses, two dogs, three cats and four fish.

Dr. Susan Ferguson
Dr. Ferguson grew up in south Austin. She earned both her bachelor’s degree and DVM from Texas A&M University, graduating from veterinary school in 2000. After graduation, she worked for two years at a mixed animal clinic in Conroe, TX before moving to the Dallas area. There, Dr. Ferguson continued to broaden her experiences practicing in a small animal clinic as well as an after-hours emergency clinic, and even a feline-only practice! In June 2013, she moved back home to be closer to family. Dr. Ferguson, her two children, and their dog and cat now reside in Kyle. Dr. Ferguson feels strongly about offering the highest quality medicine available and educating pet owner’s to help them make the best decision for their pet and their family.

Dr. Danae de Vries
Dr. de Vries grew up in a suburb of Chicago. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College. She followed that up with her DVM degree from Purdue University in 2016. While at Purdue, she received the American Association of Feline Practitioner’s Outstanding Senior Student Award. Dr. de Vries enjoys working with both large and small animals.

Dr. Jacqueline Babin
Dr. Babin grew up in central Houston. She received two bachelor’s degrees, one in animal science and the other in microbiology, from Texas A&M University. After that, she went on to earn her DVM, also from Texas A&M. She looks forward to completing further training in acupuncture and chiropractic to better serve her patients, which include companion animals, large animals, and exotics. Dr. Babin enjoys horseback riding and long-distance running in her free time, and she is excited to work with you to provide the best care for your animals.

Bryan
Bryan grew up in Dripping Springs. He has an extensive background in animal emergency care. He joined Wimberley Veterinary Clinic in 2007.
Jacqueline (Jax)
Jacqueline (Jax) is our practice manager. She has been keeping Wimberley Veterinary Clinic running smoothly since 2009.
Kerry
Kerry joined the WVC family in July of 2019 after moving from New Jersey. She has been in the veterinary field for 23 years and was a vet tech for 17 of those years. Now you will find her taking your call or greeting you and your pet as you walk in the door. Kerry is owned by 3 cats: Loki, Set & Darryl. In her free time, she co-hosts a podcast, is a Reiki Master, and has been investigating the paranormal since 2011.
Mebdh
Pronounced “Mave,” Mebdh is a Texas native with over a decade of experience as a veterinary technician. She is also a professional and competitive jouster. As a jouster, she appreciates horses and has a particular interest in our equine patients.
Alec
Alec grew up in Wimberley and is a graduate of Wimberley High School. He is the “hometown guy” on staff and works as a technician.
Kaylee
Kaylee says working in veterinary medicine is not a job, it is a passion and a lifestyle.
Angie
Angie is one of our amazing receptionists. She joined our staff in 2016.
Tracy
Tracy is our part-time hospital administrator. In addition to her administrative duties, she is a licensed veterinary technician. When not at work she is usually riding a horse or working on Animal Chat, her radio show on Wimberley Valley Radio.
Jilliyn
Jill is a technician assistant and joined our team in December of 2023. She is passionate about large animal medicine.
Kay
Kay recently joined veterinary medicine in 2023 but has been an animal enthusiast her whole life. She is passionate about showing every animal the compassion, dedication, and kindness that every patient deserves!
Victoria
Victoria is a recent addition to the team. She’s trilingual, pursuing her LVT license, and excited to be working with all our furry friends.
Julia
Julia Grew up in New Braunfels, has a love for animals, and is very sociable. Passionate about helping others and loves making people smile.
Giovana
Giovana was born in Brazil and grew up in Boston/Houston. She is currently a student at Texas State University. She has a dog named Millie and is a big animal person!
